Molly Wichman, personal trainer in Lee's Summit, shares health and wellness tips for fitness & health. Today it is Lee's Summit Free Community Fitness Class

What does it mean to be physically well?

It’s more than a number on the scale or how you look in the mirror. Physical wellness is about having the strength, mobility, balance, and energy to do the things you enjoy—and the things life asks of you.

That’s why I’m excited to be part of the City of Lee’s Summit Wellness Fair on Sunday, September 13!

I’ll be leading a free community fitness class, 30-minute introduction to resistance training, and I’d love for you to join me.

📍 Green Street 209 SE Green St., Lee’s Summit, MO 64063

1:00–1:30 p.m.

The class will be a simple introduction to resistance training and why it is such an important part of staying strong and capable as we age.

And you don't need to be an experienced exerciser to participate.

All abilities are welcome!

We’ll focus on simple, approachable movements that can help you understand how resistance training supports everyday life—from carrying groceries and lifting things around the house to getting up and down from the floor, enjoying an active vacation, playing with your kids or grandkids, or simply having more energy throughout your day.

Why Resistance Training Matters

As we get older, maintaining muscle and strength becomes increasingly important. Resistance training can help support strong bones, muscles, balance, mobility, and independence.

But my philosophy is simple: exercise shouldn't just be about getting your body ready for a vacation, a special event, or a certain size of clothing.

It should help you get your body ready for life.

I want you to be able to say YES to the things that matter to you.

YES to the hiking trail.

YES to the bike ride.

YES to the weekend adventure.

YES to picking up your grandkids.

YES to carrying your suitcase.

YES to working in your yard.

YES to getting down on the floor—and back up again.

YES to having energy left at the end of the day.

That’s what physical wellness means to me.

Come Move With Us!

Whether you already strength train regularly or you're completely new to resistance training, come give it a try. This is a great opportunity to learn, move, and discover how a few simple exercises can make a difference in how you feel and function.

And because it's part of the City of Lee’s Summit Wellness Fair, there will be plenty of other opportunities throughout the afternoon to learn about wellness and healthy living in our community.

Join me Sunday, September 13 from 1:00–1:30 p.m. at Green Street.

It's free, it's for all abilities, and you don't have to be “fit enough” to get started.

Let's build a body that lets you SAY YES TO LIFE!

I can't wait to see you there!
