Molly Wichman, personal trainer in Lee's Summit, shares health and wellness tips for fitness & health. Today it is Mental Health Awareness Month

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I thought I would share a few simple things that can genuinely make a difference to your mental wellbeing.

You don't need to do all of these — just pick one or two good for you:

  • Pet snuggles or walks are very therapeutic

  •  Plan something to look forward to — even just a quiet cup of coffee or tea counts

  •  Eat well & stay hydrated — small habits add up

  •  Get outside — nature is free therapy

  •  Prioritize sleep — everything feels harder when you're running on empty

  •  Move your body — a walk, yoga, or even a Short workout helps!

  •   Try mindfulness — notice the sky, the sounds, the moment you're in

  •   Connect with someone you love — a quick phone call or text can lift your whole day

  •   Be kind to yourself — bad days happen to everyone

  •   Talk to someone you trust — you don't have to carry it alone

You deserve to feel good — mentally AND physically. Start small, be consistent, and remember... progress over perfection, always.

Everyone has struggles, just in different ways.

Which one of these do YOU try to try to do each week?

With over 20 years of experience in health and fitness, I provide sustainable fitness to help you lose weight and boost energy through simple, effective workouts and nutrition.
