Molly Wichman, personal trainer in Lee's Summit, shares health and wellness tips for fitness & health. Todays tip is on Self Compassion Day!
Tomorrow is Self Compassion Day, just a reminder-you deserve the same kindness you show
others.
I see so many of you working on your goals, showing up consistently, and working hard to become the best version of yourself. But I also see the harsh inner critic that comes along for the ride - the voice that says you're not doing enough, not progressing fast enough, or not worthy of rest.
Here's the truth: self-compassion isn't selfish - it's essential. When we treat ourselves with kindness, we actually perform better, recover faster, and stay motivated longer than when we beat ourselves up.
I challenge you to:
🌱 Speak to yourself like you would a dear friend
🌱 Celebrate small wins (yes, even drinking enough water counts!)
🌱 Take rest days without guilt
🌱 Remember that progress isn't always linear
🌱 Practice ONE form of self-care daily - even if it's just 5 minutes
You're already doing amazing things, and you deserve to acknowledge that.
What's one way you'll practice self-compassion today? Message me and let me know!
I want to hear what you are doing mwichman11@gmail.com.
The Power of Self-Care: Your Foundation for Wellness
Self-care isn't selfish—it's essential. When you prioritize taking care of yourself, you're investing in your physical health, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. Simple acts like getting adequate sleep, eating nourishing foods, moving your body, and setting boundaries create a ripple effect that transforms your entire well-being.
Why Self-Care Matters
Your body and mind are interconnected systems. When you neglect one area, others suffer. Chronic stress from poor self-care habits can lead to elevated cortisol levels, weakened immunity, disrupted sleep, and increased inflammation. This creates a cycle where you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unable to show up as your best self.
The Wellness Connection
Regular self-care practices help regulate your nervous system, lower stress hormones, and improve your body
IF you are on board for overall wellness, long term weight loss and improved health, a little coaching can be a perfect fit!
